REST WELL DEATH DOULA
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is Rest Well the same as hospice?
Rest Well isn’t hospice or any form of medical care. What Rest Well can do is help find hospice support that fits your needs, and then be an added layer that goes along side it. Hospice teams provide essential services, but they’re often stretched thin as they care for many people at once. A death doula can offer something more personal-supporting you and your loved ones, coordinating with hospice staff, and being present before, during and after death.
What is an advance directive?
An advance directive is a written, legally recognized document that outlines your preferences for medical care, comfort measures, personal assets, and the legacy you wish to leave behind. While these documents might seem dry or purely procedural, they actually can reflect your personality and values in a very meaningful way. Creating one is a powerful step toward shaping the end of your life on your own terms-and it can save your loved ones unnecessary stress when you’re no longer here to guide them.
Do I need an estate lawyer to work with Rest Well?
It really depends on the situation. Rest Well will do everything to support your needs; however, when something calls for legal expertise, Rest Well will connect you with an estate attorney.
Do you work both in person and remotely?
Yes I do both.
Do you have a specific training or certification?
Yes. I trained with INELDA, the International End of Life Doula Association.
I’m not actively dying, and I’m not caring for anyone who is. Can I still use Rest Well’s services?
Absolutely. Rest Well is here to help you and your loved ones prepare for this universal part of life-whether you’re facing a diagnosis or simply planning ahead. These conversations can feel overwhelming at any stage, but they don’t have to be. With Rest Well, you don’t have to navigate it alone; we walk through it together.
What does it cost to work with Rest Well Death Doula?
One of my main goals is to make this support accessible. We’ll talk through your needs and create a plan that feels right for you and your family, both practically and financially.
Can a death doula give any medication?
No. Death Doulas never give any medications whether prescription or over the counter.
Does insurance cover the services of a death doula?
